Research Scientist

Lon was born in France, and as the son of an Air Force father, lived in several countries and states by the time he graduated from high school in upstate New York.  He earned his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Georgia, Master's degree in Zoology at Kasetsart University (Thailand), and Ph.D. in Wildlife Sciences at Texas A&M University and Texas A&M University-Kingsville.  Lon’s Master's and Ph.D. research focused on carnivore ecology and conservation in the forests of Thailand, and he currently is involved with ocelot research in South Texas.  Lon joined CKWRI as a Research Scientist in June, 2004 working under Professor Michael Tewes in the Feline Research Program.  His hobbies include reading, camping, tennis and travel.
