Dan Friedkin was born in San Diego, California. He graduated from Georgetown University and received his Master’s degree from Rice University. He is President and CEO of the Friedkin Companies, with responsibility for companies and investments principally in the automotive industry. These include Gulf States Toyota, the distributor for Texas and the gulf states. Dan is a director with JP Morgan Chase in Houston, Trustee of the Kinkaid School Board, Chairman of the Kinkaid Investments Foundation, and Commissioner of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Dan and his family spend much of their time in south Texas on the Comanche Ranch in Maverick and Dimmit Counties, where they are involved in wildlife management and research. Dan is also involved in wildlife conservation initiatives in Africa. He and his wife, Debra, have four children: Danny, Ryan, Corbin, and Savannah. They reside in Houston, Texas.
