2003 to Present

Charity is a native of Dallas, Texas but has made Kingsville her home since arriving in 1998 as a master’s student. Prior to her arrival, she attended Texas Tech University where she earned a B.S. in Wildlife Management. She received her M.S. in Range and Wildlife Management at Texas A&M University-Kingsville, focusing on black bear habitat in the mountains of northern Mexico. In March 2003, Charity returned to the Institute as a Research Associate for the South Texas Natives project. She became a more permanent member of the Institute in September 2005 upon accepting the position of Outreach Specialist. Charity’s responsibilities include writing press releases and creating information materials on Institute research topics, activities, and special events, as well as Institute recognitions and awards. She also works to develop and maintain the Institute website, and plans and coordinates special events.
