Aaron is an Assistant Professor for Research with the East Foundation and Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute. Aaron graduated with his Ph.D. in Wildlife Science from CKWRI-TAMUK where he quantified male mate-search strategies, predictability of antler characteristics, and factors influencing reproductive success in white-tailed deer. Subsequently, he worked with USGS and University of Montana to evaluate the role of supplemental feeding and harvest vulnerability on elk population dynamics. Currently, Aaron will determine how hunting influences deer demography and morphology by using unhunted deer populations as a baseline. Additionally, Aaron will be involved in documenting effects of environmental variation on deer populations, evaluating the use of drones to survey white-tailed deer, quantifying the expansion of nilgai antelope in South Texas, and providing educational experiences to university students via deer captures.
