Calvin grew up just outside of Athens, GA and was always involved in the outdoors. He spends most of his time enjoying nature through hunting, fishing, hiking, and photography. After receiving his bachelor's degree in wildlife science from the University of Georgia, he spent some time on technician jobs before accepting a M.S. position here as the Boone & Crockett Club Fellow in Ungulate Research. Calvin's masters research focused on spatial ecology of mule deer in a region impacted by Chronic Wasting Disease. Calvin graduated with his M.S. in 2023 and is now pursuing his Ph.D. at CKWRI with his research focused on evaluating population performance of mule deer at the range periphery in western Oklahoma. Calvin's career goals are to return to academia focusing on spatial ecology and predator-prey interactions.
