Jack received his Bachelor's of Science from Louisiana State University in Wildlife Ecology, where he conducted research on avian niche ecology of rice and crawfish agrisystems. He has always been enthralled by the natural world, but has mostly focused on birds since he was 11 years old. Before coming to Kingsville, he worked for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission on their bird atlas, as an undergraduate assistant at the renowned LSU Museum of Natural Science, and as an technician for Mottled Duck nest predation studies. In his free time, he is usually looking for birds, herps, or plants throughout the country, and is a published photographer in several nature magazines. As a M.S. student, Jack is studying under Bart Ballard to uncover the secrets of the migratory patterns and stopover sites of the Cackling Goose via GPS-GSM data.
