A Social-Ecological Assessment of the Northern Bobwhite Decline in Texas

Kristyn was born and raised in the north Texas area in a small town called Chatfield. She has always had a passion for wildlife but it grew as she graduated high school, and upon completing her Bachelor of Science degree from Tarleton State University, her passion became rooted in a scientific perspective. She completed her Master of Science degree in Range and Wildlife Management at TAMUK in the summer of 2020, and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Wildlife Science. Her dissertation will assess 3 key factors of northern bobwhite management, those being 1) habitat, 2) population dynamics, and 3) stakeholder perspectives. This research will highlight areas of alignment between landscape-level bobwhite population trends and site-level management perspectives in north and south Texas.
